History

Reports in 2014 stated that the government was going to invest 19.7 billion yuan in the New Airport Line[2] and a plan with Caoqiao station, Cigezhuang station and 2 stations at the airport (North Terminal and South Terminal).[3]

The most recent updated reports as of early 2016 state that the New Airport Line is slated for completion by 2019. The line was redesigned to feature only 3 stations, running from Caoqiao to the airport, stopping at Cigezhuang. The line will operate at a top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) using CRH6F regional rail trains.[4][5] The line is currently under construction.[6]

The line will be extended to Lize Business District station.
