Caused by the resignation of Councillor George Jeremy Lynsky (Irish Nationalist, Scotland, elected 1 November 1889)[6] was reported to the Council on 6 January 1892 .[7]

Councillor Lynsky resigned his seat to become a candidate for the city coronorship.

Aldermanic By-election, 2 March 1892

The death of Alderman William John Lunt on 14 February 1892 was reported to the Council on 2 March 1892.[13]

To fill this position Edward Lawrence was elected by the Council as an Alderman on 2 March 1892[14] [15][16]
