Lord Worsley United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland New Zealand The steamer grounded fore and aft 11 miles (18 km) south of Cape Egmont, Taranaki, New Zealand. Passengers and crew were landed safely with the help of Māori from a local pa, despite the fact that a state of war existed between colonials and natives along the Taranaki coast.[1]
