The Laredo Bucks are an announced junior ice hockey team in the USA Central Hockey League (USACHL), to be based in Laredo, Texas, and play home games at Sames Auto Arena. The team was founded in 2018 shares the name of the professional Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League that ceased operations in 2012.

History

After the folding of the original Bucks team, attempts to bring hockey back to Laredo arose on three separate occasions, but none were successful. On March 21, 2018, it was announced that a junior-level USA Central Hockey League (USACHL) team would come to Laredo Energy Arena for the league's inaugural 2018–19 season.[1] On June 12, 2018, the league acquired the rights to the Laredo Bucks' name and branding.[2] On August 13, the USACHL announced Wayne Smith as the first Bucks' head coach.[3]
