XEWL-AM/XHWL-FM (branded as Xtrema) is a radio station that serves the Laredo, Texas, United States and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico border area. XEWL-AM broadcasts during the daytime on the AM frequency of 1090 kHz, while XHWL-FM broadcasts on 103.7 MHz FM.
The station signed on in 1950 as XERG-AM and changed its callsign in 1959.
In April 2018, XEWL began its second-wave AM to FM migration by signing on 103.7 XHWL-FM.[2]
