Karan Vipin Grover (born 22 June 1982[1]) is an Indian actor known for his work in the television serials Saarrthi (2004-2007), Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli (2009-2012) and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant ( 2016).

Karan debuted in Bollywood through the film Wedding Pullav in 2015, and was also a TV anchor on Sony's Comedy-Drama show The Drama Company.

Personal life

Born and raised in Mumbai, Karan stays with his parents and a younger brother, Mihir V Grover.[2]

He attended a diploma in chemical engineering and an Event Management course for one year before receiving an offer to appear on Gladrags.[2][3][4]

Career

He worked with Omang Kumar's Event management company for a year before participating in the Gladrags manhunt contest in 2004. He was amongst the top five finalists.[2]

For one and half years, he was a VJ with Zee Music but he was not satisfied and wanted to do something different.[2]

He came to know about the upcoming show in Star Plus through one of his friend. After giving the audition he and was selected as the male protagonist, Arjun Goenka in Saarrthi.[2]

After Saarrthi, he appeared in several shows, including Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Hum Aapke Hai In laws, Teri Meri Love Stories and Lakhon Mein Ek.[2] He also participated in dance reality show Nach Baliye 3 with Kavita Kaushik,[4] and acted in serial Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed on Zee TV.[5]

Grover won the Kalakar Award for the Best Actor for Punar Vivah - Ek Nayee Umeed in 2014. He debuted in Bollywood with the film, Wedding Pullav in 2015. In 2016, he played a scientist in the serial Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant with actress Ridhima Pandit, and also played a serial killer in Gulmohar Grand Show. He worked in The Drama Company on Sony TV. He was seen in Vikram Bhatt's web series Spotlight 2 which aired on Viu. He also appeared in a YouTube web series, Shitty Ideas Trending. He is going to be seen in the upcoming web series Vodka Shots, playing the character "Shlok".
