Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant (English: Our daughter-in-law is Rajni Kant) is an Indian Hindi sitcom television series, which premiered from 15 February 2016 to 13 February 2017 on Life OK. The series is produced by Sonali Jaffar.[1][2] Ridhima Pandit, Karan Grover (later replaced by Raqesh Vashisth) played the main characters in the series.[3][4] The plot of the series is about Rajni, a super humanoid robot, created by Shantanu Kant, who later marries her.[5]

Plot

Shantanu Kant (Karan Grover) is a scientist who creates a super humanoid robot with the help of his best friend Devendra Bangdu aka Dev (Neel Motwani). The robot is named RAJNI (Ridhima Pandit), short for Randomly Accessible Jobs Network Interface, a robot with 10X the power of hulk, a human's body, a pretty face and a brain faster than 100 computers.

This robot Rajni after a few episodes becomes Shaan's wife! Shaan has his own reasons to marry her-to escape himself from the burden of a married life, to make the updating and reprogramming of Rajni more easy-as no one will question him that why Rajni is in their home once he marries her; and altogether to make Rajni observe human nature and interpret them in her memory-so that she is more human like.

Surili Kant (Pallavi Pradhan) doesn't wants Rajni as her daughter-in-law due to Rajni's weird behavior (which is due to her being a robot), and also because Rajni was introduced as a Hyderabadi by Shaan and Dev but Surili wanted a classy Bengali girl as her'bahu'-so, Surili never accepts Rajni as her daughter-in-law by heart. Maggie (Vahbbiz Dorabjee) and Sharmila (Tanvi Thakkar), the two other bahus of the Kants, are jealous of Rajni and don't want her to stay in the house. Shogata (Neha Kaul) doesn't like Rajni as she is not'classy' like them; Shaan's aunt Bubbles(Sweety Walia) also doesn't likes Rajni, as she considers her a ghost due to her weirdness but later starts liking her, after Rajni helps her and Amartya (Sumit Kaul) to get married by convincing them.

But, Shaan's father Amrish (Rajendra Chawla) and niece Kuhu (Palak Dey), along with brothers Dhyaan (Pankit Thakker) and Gyaan (Mehul Nisar), always favour Rajni and like her nature. Kuhu comes to know about Rajni being a robot after a shopping mall incident-but Shaan pacifies her and she also agrees to help in hiding Rajni's true robot identity from others.

Shaan had created Rajni for a project for which he took financial support from Makarad (Suhaas Ahuja) a.k.a. Matthew - who was also Shogata's boyfriend. After some misunderstandings Dev accidentally ends up getting married to Shogata due to which Matthew breaks up with Shogata and demands from Shaan the robot(Rajni) for which he had given the latter money. To this, Shaan reluctantly agrees but when he comes to know that Matthew would use Rajni for terrorism, he escapes from Matthew and doesn't hands him Rajni as he had created her for the ease of mankind and not for destroying it. Then enters Samaira (Shiny Doshi), Shaan's ex-girlfriend and sharmila's cousin; Shaan starts dreaming of a life with her again & samaira too wants him back. But soon, Shaan comes to know about Samaira's real wicked face through Rajni and his mother & Shaan ask her to leave him forever.

Many problems arise in the Kant family-some of them come by themselves and some are unintentionally created by Rajni as she doesn't understands humans accurately. But, Rajni always saves the Kants from all these troubles-sometimes with the help of Shaan and Dev.

Rajni misinterpreted Shaan's command and changed his face by plastic surgery. Now Shaan (Raqesh Vashisth) has a new face. This at first creates some problems but later all confusions are cleared by Shaan.

In the middle of all this, Rajni's circuit gets damaged & she starts behaving weirdly. Seeing her weird behavior Surili gets a heart attack and Rajni tries to save her by giving her electric shocks but Shaan misunderstands her actions & gets angry at her for hurting his mom and almost killing her and therefore, throws her at a machinery dismantling center.

Kants have gone bankrupt post- Surili's heart attack due to the foolishness of Maggie, Sharmila, Dhyaan & Gyaan in business. These four go on fighting with each other & they finally demand of a partition by selling the Kant Nivaas. Surili agrees to it with the condition that partition will be done only after Shaan's marriage. Shaan had been in USA all these years returns with his fiancée Ria. The Kant family hide their financial crisis & fix there marriage in order to get back their wealth by Ria's rich family.

It is then revealed that Rajni had managed to save herself from the factory 5 years ago. There, she had found an infant on the streets and then, had decided to adopt him,and Dev had agreed to keep her and the child, but as he wasn't as genius as Shaan,he couldn't update Rajni with the latest technologies all these years. During this time he works hard and becomes a millionaire from nothing-he is even the boss to Vikram, Ria's brother.

After Rajni's adoptive son whom she named as R.A.M saves Shogata from street goons, she invites him to Shaan and Ria's engagement along with his mother, but soon Ria finds out that Rajni was Shaan's wife whom he still hadn't divorced and thus, she leaves Shaan along with her brother Vikram. After this, Shaan decides to divorce Rajni. Meanwhile, at the family court, Rajni follows Amrish's command and says no to the divorce, and the court asks Shaan and Rajni to give 6 months' time to their marriage.

In these 6 months, Rajni wins everyone's,including Shaan's trust back, but her cover gets blown up when Surili sees her elongating her arm out, thus remembering the events of post-5 years, which had in turn led to her heart attack. She then tries to blow up Rajni's cover in front of everyone, but when she cuts Rajni's hand with a knife, blood oozes out from the cut, thus proving Rajni as innocent.

Soon it gets revealed that the girl who had been there in place of Rajni was her doppelganger Rajjo, who had run away from her abusive family and Shogata has mistakenly brought her home thinking her as Rajni. Rajni beats up Rajjo's family and saves her.

Soon Shaan and Rajjo start developing mutual feelings for each other. Shogata and Dev too confess that they both had feelings to each other since childhood but was scared to voice it out. Amrish learns about Rajni's truth, he accepts her as the way she is, but this reunion is stopped by a robot (Mohammed Iqbal Khan), as he asks Rajni to join her kind in the robotic dimension, to which she agrees, and before Shaan or Amrish could do anything, the robot flies into oblivion along with her.Rajni leaves(or forgets) her remote behind with Shaan, who in turn decides to accept Rajjo as his life partner after she agrees to act like Rajni to all the family members including Surili, and thus a sad-happy ending.
