Nia Sharma is an Indian television actress.[1] Sharma played the role of Manvi in the soap opera Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.[2][3] She played the female lead in soap opera Jamai Raja as Roshni.[4][5] Nia has also been a contestant in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2017 and ended being amongst the top 5 finalists.

Nia Sharma shot to popularity with the popular web series Twisted. She ranked Number 2 in 2017 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women published by British-based Eastern Eye newspaper that conducted its annual online Poll. Nia was ranked at Number 3 in 2016.[6][7]

Early life

Nia Sharma was born in Delhi. She was a student of JIMS Rohini, Delhi. She completed her graduation in Mass Communication from there.

Personal life

Her real name is Neha Sharma but she changed as she found it common. She is the youngest child of their family. She has one elder brother. She is very close to her mother who is like her best friend.[8] Sharma was ranked No. 3 in 2016 and No. 2 in 2017 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by British-based Eastern Eye newspaper.[6][7]

Career

Nia Sharma began her television career on the serial Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha. Nia made her next move with the serial Behnein. Later, played a cameo role in the reality show The Player. In 2011 Nia played female Lead role Maanvi in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, a layered character with a range of emotions from drama to comedy to emotional shades, suffering from cancer. Nia is the first Indian Television actress to go bald onscreen and her finest performance won her "Best Actress Popular - Desh ki Dhadkan" Award at Indian Telly Awards in 2012.[9]

In 2014, Nia played the female lead role of Roshni in Zee TV's Jamai Raja opposite Ravi Dubey though she quit the show after two years in 2016.[10][11][12]

In 2017, Nia played female lead character Alia Mukherjee in Vikram Bhatt web series Twisted which was quite a departure from her previous roles and characters on Television.[13] Later, Nia participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8 titled pain in spain. Nia was eliminated first on 6 August, again on 27 August but made comeback as wildcard entry [14][15][16] and performed well in subsequent stunts, eventually became the first finalist of the season 8 [17]

Recently it was announced Nia Sharma to play the female lead role again in Vikram Bhatts' sequel of the Web series Twisted, to go on floors from January 2018.[18]
