KHKI is a country music radio station located in Des Moines, Iowa, broadcasting on 97.3 FM. The station was first licensed in February 1961, as KDMI.[1] The station's studios are in Urbandale, Iowa, with Cumulus Media's other Des Moines stations: KJJY, KGGO, KWQW, and KBGG. Its transmitter is located on Northwest 100th Street on the border with Grimes and Johnston.
The station had previously billed itself as "97.3 KHKI, Hawkeye County", then was "The Hawk 97-3" before becoming "97.3 The Hawk," but as of May 24, 2013, it rebranded itself as "Nash FM 97.3" as part of Cumulus' plan to convert a majority of their 84 Country-formatted properties to the "Nash FM" brand.[4]
