On 22 April 2018, four days into the tournament, CONCACAF announced the remainder of the championship was cancelled immediately due to security concerns caused by civil unrest in Nicaragua.[2][3] On 11 May 2018, CONCACAF announced the tournament would resume play on 6 June and conclude on 12 June 2018, with the remainder of the tournament hosted at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, United States. Six teams will play in the remainder of the tournament, as Nicaragua and Puerto Rico were already eliminated and were set to face each other in their last match.[4]

Overall table
2018 table
Note: the table below has no impact on playoff qualification and is used solely for determining host of the MLS Cup, certain CCL spots, the Supporters' Shield trophy, seeding in the 2019 Canadian Championship, and 2019 MLS draft. The conference tables are the sole determinant for teams qualifying for the playoffs.
Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City and Toronto FC qualified for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League by winning their respective domestic cup competitions, not through MLS.

One Canada-based team qualifies for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League, also entering at the second phase (NOTE: Canadian teams cannot qualify through MLS):- The winner of the 2018 Canadian Championship (Toronto FC)
- The winner of MLS Cup 2018;
- Four US-based teams qualify for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League. Due to a change in format to the tournament, two qualifiers will come from each of the 2017 and 2018 MLS seasons.[7] This combined qualification method will be used for the 2019 tournament only. For the 2018 season, the following teams will qualify:
Aggregate 2017 and 2018 table
As Toronto FC won MLS Cup 2017, at least one of the U.S. berths for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League will be reallocated, to the U.S.-based team with the best aggregate record over the 2017 and 2018 MLS regular seasons that has not yet qualified. An additional berth will be allocated, based on this method, if a Canada-based team wins MLS Cup 2018, or a U.S.-based team qualifies for multiple CONCACAF Champions League berths (by winning a combination of MLS Cup 2018, 2017 U.S. Open Cup, and/or 2018 U.S. Open Cup).[8]
Note: Only U.S.-based teams are listed in this table.
