Ashley Nicole Sanchez (born March 16, 1999) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward for UCLA Bruins in the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Club career

Sanchez has played youth soccer for Santa Anita SC, Legends FC, and So Cal Blues.[1]

Sanchez joined the UCLA Bruins in 2017.[2] As a freshman, Sanchez was named to the first eleven of the all-conference Pac-12 team.[3] Sanchez scored six goals and had nine assists during the regular season for UCLA.[2]

International career

Sanchez has played for the United States at under-14, under-15, under-17, and under-20 levels.[1] She received her first senior call-up in March 2016.[4]

She captained the under-17 team at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, and was a squad member at the 2016 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship.[1]

In December 2015, Sanchez helped the under-20 team qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship, scoring three goals with five assists.[4] Sanchez started all six games at the tournament, finishing with one goal and two assists.[5]

By playing in both the 2016 under-17 and under-20 World Cups, Sanchez became the first player in U.S. history to play in two World Cups in one calendar year.[2]

After being a part of the squad that finished runner up at the 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship, Sanchez was named to the roster for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.[6]
