Selection procedure- Four US-based teams qualify for the 2019 CONCACAF Champions League. Due to a change in format to the tournament, two qualifiers will come from each of the 2017 and 2018 MLS seasons.[40] This combined qualification method will be used for the 2019 tournament only. For the 2018 season, the following teams will qualify:
- The winner of MLS Cup 2018;
- The winner of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup (Houston Dynamo)
