Wasing Wood Ponds

Wasing Wood Ponds is a site of Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). the ponds are in Wasing Wood on the edge of Wasing in Berkshire.[1] The ponds are special for their range of Odonata.[2]

Geography

Wasing Wood Ponds covers an area of 13.5 hectares.[3] The site is a group of ponds, wet ditches and marshy areas partly in the Woods and partly on open ground formerly excavated for gravel.[2]

History

The wood was classed in 1984 as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.[3]
