Virginia elections, 2019

The 2019 Virginia elections will take place on November 5, 2019. All 40 seats of the Senate of Virginia and 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates are up for re-election, as are many local offices.

As of June 30, 2018, incumbents in both parties were outraising their challengers, and there was a brisk pace of fundraising among Northern Virginia incumbents.[1]

Senate

13th district

In Virginia's 13th Senate district, Democrat Kyle Green is running against socially conservative incumbent Republican Dick Black on a progressive platform that includes refusing to take money from corporate political action committees, supporting LGBTQ equality, pushing for increased education funding, raising the minimum wage and advocating for better gun safety. The 13th District election is expected to be one of the highest-profile, most-expensive contests in the commonwealth.[2]
