Shikrarpuri achaar

Shikarpuri Achaar (Sindhi: شڪارپوري آچار) is a variety of South Asian pickles in Shikarpur, Sindh.[1][2] This achaar is famous throughout Pakistan and it is even exported to UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK and other countries. The most famous the variety is the mixed achaar containing turnip, carrots, garlic, chickpeas, mango, lime, green chilies and cauliflowers. Homemade achaars of Shikarpur are also popular among the varieties.[3]

Shikarpur city houses around 12 pickle manufacturing factories. These factories have set-up huge network of shops in the city. Moreover, there are some home-based pickle manufacturing set-ups established by women and are sold from there.[1]
