São Joaquim is a village in the western part of Príncipe Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. ts population is 125 (2008 est.),[1] São Joaquim is located WSW of the island capital of Santo António and west of Porto Real and is connected with a dirt road linking via the bay. It also has a church of São Joaquim.

About the village
Agriculture and fishing are the main industries of the village.
Nature
A wall gecko species Hemidactylus principensis was first spotted in a nearby beach[2] it was once a subspecies of Hemidactylus greeffii (Greeff's wall gecko).
Other fauna including other butterflies and insects as well as birds, frogs and other small reptiles are founded in the area.
