The Manila Light Rail Transit Phase 2 of the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1 South Extension (LRT-1 Extension), this line is planned to link the suburban city of Dasmariñas to the future Manila LRT-1 extension at Niog station in Bacoor. Its path would run along a north-south axis over a length of 19 kilometres (12 mi). Its proposed right-of-way alignment is along Aguinaldo Highway from Niog in Bacoor to Governor's Drive in Dasmariñas.[1]

The LRT-6 project will cost an estimated PHP64 billion or US$1.42 billion.[1] It was approved by the Investment Coordination Committee–Cabinet Committee (ICC-CABCOM) of the National Economic and Development Authority last April 2015 as a public–private partnership project.[2] When completed, it is expected to significantly reduce the volume of vehicular traffic in the Cavite area and improve passenger mobility in the southern parts of the metropolis.

Proposed stations

The project involves the construction of 6 elevated stations along Aguinaldo Highway (listed from north to south):
