Adisumarmo Airport Railink Services (ARS) (Indonesian: Rute KA Bandara Adisumarmo) is an airport rail link service in Central Java, Indonesia. This rail link was built to cut travel time from Surakarta city center to the Adisumarmo International Airport, as one of the government's efforts to improve the integration between public transport modes and meet the needs of community mobilization, and to create a safe, secure, convenient and timely transportation facility.

The Adisumarmo ARS is the fourth airport rail link in Indonesia connecting passengers between the city centre and airport after Kualanamu ARS, Soekarno–Hatta ARS and Minangkabau ARS. The train station at the Adi Sumarmo Solo Airport that will connect with the Balapan Solo Station is targeted for completion in September 2018 and is expected to operate in 2019.[1]

Background

A new railway is being constructed to the airport. The 13.5-kilometer airport rail will connect Solo Balapan Station to Adi Soemarmo Airport. Construction of the airport rail line consists of two segments: segment 1, from Solo Balapan Station to Solo Baru Station along 3.5 km which is the existing railway track. Meanwhile, segment 2, starting from Solo Baru Station to Adi Sumarmo Airport along the 10 km to be built new railway line. By using this airport train, the distance from Solo to Adi Sumarmo Airport will only take about 15 minutes. The airport railway is predicted to finish in November 2018.[2]

Train services will be provided by PT Railink, a joint venture between PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (English: Indonesian Railway). The trains are manufactured by INKA.[3][4]
