Line 9 of the Guangzhou Metro is expected to run across Huadu District. It will start at Fei'eling and end at Gaozeng, interchanging with Line 3 at Gaozeng. The total length will be 20.1 km (12.5 mi) with 11 stations. Line 9's color is pale green. Line 9 was opened for operation on 28 December 2017.[2] Line 9 was originally planned to be extended further northwest into neighboring Qingyuan city but was canceled due to the project's poor business case. Instead the Guangzhou–Qingyuan intercity railway started construction and will provide a quicker connection between the two cities.
