Line 18 (Guangzhou Metro)

Line 18 of Guangzhou Metro (Chinese: 广州地铁18号线; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Dìtiě Shíbāhàoxiàn) is a rapid transit express line under construction in Guangzhou.^[2][3] It will run in a south-north direction, connecting Wanqingsha in Nansha District, Panyu Square in Panyu District, Pazhou in Haizhu District, Zhujiang New Town and Guangzhou East Railway Station in Tianhe District.

Summary

The line roughly north-south, start at Nansha District Wanqingsha hub, end at Guangzhou East railway station, connecting Nansha New Area and Guangzhou East Railway Station, with a total length of 65.3 km (40.6 mi) with 9 stations. The line located at Wanqingsha, Hengli, Panyu Square, Nancun Wanbo, Shaxi, Shiliugang, Pazhou West Zone, Xiancun, Guangzhou East. The difference is the line operating speed is to 160 km/h (99 mph), it is a city express line, use 8 cars train. The line use the station stop and stop operation mode combination. The purpose is to shorten the time from Nansha to urban transportation hub, to stop the train station within 30 minutes from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Wanqinsha. In the early days of the traffic, the Panyu square is running together with the Line 22 in the south of the line, sharing the corridor of "Panyu square to Wanqingsha". The line completion of trial operation at the end of 2020.^[4]
