Line 8 of the Shenzhen Metro (also known as the Yantian line) is currently under construction. Line 8 has a length of 12.34 km (7.67 mi) and a total of 6 stations. It connects Liantang with Yantian. Line 8 is the first line to serve Yantian District. The line may be built as a monorail rather than a traditional metro.[1] Construction may start in 2016, with the line scheduled to open in 2020.[2] This route is planned to connect with Line 2, with trains on Line 2 terminating at Yantian station.
