"Illest Motherfucker Alive" is a song by American rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z. It is only available on their collaborative album Watch the Throne (2011) as a bonus track on the deluxe edition.[1]
Composition
The song makes usage of a sample of "Tristessa" by Orchestra Njervudarov.[2] This song is not only sampled in this track on the album - it is also sampled on both "No Church in the Wild" and "Welcome to the Jungle".[3] As well as this sample, "Illest Motherfucker Alive" samples "(Titles) Chariots of Fire" by Vangelis.[4]
Commercial performance
Upon the release of Watch The Throne, the track debuted and peaked at number 4 on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.[5]
