Condor is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within Clearwater County.[1]
The hamlet is located in census division No. 9 and in the federal riding of Wetaskiwin. In 1938, they were still negotiating for a gravel road to their community.[2]
The hamlet was named in tribute to the British Royal Navy ship HMS Condor.[3]
Demographics
Statistics Canada has not recently published a population figure for Condor. However, information from Industry Canada shows that Condor's greater rural area had a total population of 1,093 living in 409 dwellings in 2001. With a land area of 240.44 km2 (92.83 sq mi), its greater rural area has a population density of 9.0/km2 (23/sq mi).[4]
