Cherry Gardens is a semi-rural suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It lies within the City of Onkaparinga and has postcode 5157.

History

Cherry Gardens' early settlers included John and Benjamin Chambers, who were granted land in the area some time before 1844. The area was named for the native cherry (Exocarpos cupressiformis) which grew there in profusion.[4]

Cherry Gardens Post Office first opened on 10 July 1850 and finally closed in 1976.[5]
