Captain Barbell: Ang Pagbabalik (International title: Captain Barbell: The Return) is a 2011 Philippine television drama action fantasy series broadcast by GMA Network. The series is an adaptation from Mars Ravelo's fictional superhero of the same title. Directed by Dominic Zapata, it stars Richard Gutierrez in the title role.[2] after playing him in the 2006 series. It premiered on March 28, 2011 on the network's Telebabad line up replacing Machete and worldwide on March 30, 2011 on GMA Pinoy TV.[3] The series concluded on July 29, 2011 with a total of 88 episodes. It was replaced by Time of My Life in its timeslot.
Premise
Teng and his wife are settling down in the city. Their simple life takes a turn when Teng's wife is killed and becomes a heart donor to an undisclosed recipient. While Captain Barbell fights through his sorrow and continues his quest for peace and order. He meets Nero, an evil genius, who became rich through his malevolent ways. Teng, on the other hand, clashes with Gregor whose father owns the tenement where Teng lives. Meanwhile, during a storm formed by Nero, Captain Barbell helps a woman gives birth and later dies thus leaving Teng with the responsibility of taking care of the child.

Ratings
According to AGB Nielsen Philippines' Mega Manila household television ratings, the pilot episode earned a 25% rating.[4] While the final episode also scored a 25% rating.[5]
