Amanat Baghdad (Arabic: نادي امانة بغداد), is an Iraqi football team based in Karkh District, West Districts of the Tigris River, Baghdad.
History
- On July 1, 1957, Maslahat Naqil Al-Rukab (Arabic: مصلحة نقل الركاب literally: Passenger Transport Department) were formed.
- In 1957, Amana Al-Asama (Arabic: امانة العاصمة literally: Capital Secretariat) were formed.[1]
- In 1974, Al-Baladiyat (Arabic: البلديات literally: Municipalities) were formed by the merger of Maslahat Naqil Al-Rakab and Esalet Al-Mai (Arabic: إساله الماي literally: Water Liquefaction).[2]
- In 1977, Al-Amana (Arabic: الأمانة literally: Secretariat) were formed by the merger of Al-Baladiyat and Amana Al-Asama.
- On August 5, 2009, Al-Amana renamed to Baghdad (Arabic: بغداد).
- In 2014, Baghdad renamed to Amanat Baghdad (Arabic: أمانة بغداد literally: Mayoralty of Baghdad).
Stadium
Since 2011 Amanat Baghdad have got their own stadium. The Amanat Baghdad Stadium holds 5,000 people.
