The 1974–75 Iraqi National League was the 1st ever season of the competition since it replaced the four regional leagues that had previously been held in Iraq (the most notable of which being the Iraqi Central League). Al-Tayaran (now known as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya) won the title.[1]
Name changes
- Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya renamed to Al-Tayaran.
- Al-Sikak Al-Hadeed renamed to Al-Naqil.
- Al-Muwasalat were formed by the merging of Al-Minaa and Al-Bareed.
- Al-Sinaa were formed by the merging of multiple teams including Al-Kahrabaa.
- Al-Shorta were formed by the merging of their senior team Aliyat Al-Shorta with their reserve teams Kuliya Al-Shorta and Shorta Al-Najda.
- Al-Baladiyat were formed by the merging of Maslahat Naqil Al-Rukab and Esalet Al-Mai.
- Al-Jaish were formed by the merging of multiple teams including Al-Mushat and Quwat Salahaddin.
