Troon, Arizona

Troon is a populated place in North Scottsdale, Arizona. At 2,400 feet (730 m) elevation, temperatures are cooler in this enclave than throughout much of the rest of Phoenix, Arizona.[2] Part of Troon Village is the Troon Country Club, which contains 1,400 acres (5.7 km2) of developed land and has been in operation since 1986.[3] Designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf,[2] the world-class golf course is the focal point of the Troon experience consisting of five tee markers which allow the course lengths to vary from 5,167 to 7,041 yards. Following a recent $7.5M clubhouse renovation, this stunning club features a 9,000 square foot health and wellness center, three tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, a relaxing, heated, resort-style pool, dining and an extensive social calendar of Member Events. In 1995, just nine years after its opening, the country club was purchased by members and became a privately owned golf club. The golf club is best known for its environmentally sensitive development as an Audubon Sanctuary, which conserves the Sonoran Desert while offering members usage of the property.[2]
