New York's 2nd State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Republican Senator John J. Flanagan, the current Senate Minority Leader and former Senate Majority Leader, since 2003.

Geography

District 2 covers north-central Suffolk County on Long Island, including the town of Smithtown, as well as portions of Brookhaven and Huntington.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 1 and 3, and with New York State Assembly districts 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 12.[4]
