Cebu Technological University
Cebu Technological University (CTU) is a level-4 (national status), level-5 (regional status) state university located in Cebu, Philippines led by CTU President Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., who is serving his second term of office effective March 2019 through March 2023 as per CHED declaration. By virtue of Republic Act 9744, Cebu State College of Science and Technology was converted to Cebu Technological University[1] during the previous administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Recently certified by TUV Rheinland, the university copes with the ISO 9001:2015 standard to be on a par with top-performing educational institutions.

Research
The Cebu Technological University has been aiming to transform to a research university. CTU has recognized the significance of research and development in the status of the university to be recognized not just locally, but also globally. With the upcoming enhanced University Strategic Plan, several initiatives and activities were conducted in 2018 that were aligned to this. Dr. Gloria G. Delan, the former Vice-President for Research and Development, has retired since August 14, 2018. The Office of the Vice-President for Research and Development is now managed by Dr. Adrian P. Ybañez. Research Awards and Recognition
- Dr. Serapion N. Tanduyan, university professor, received 2nd prize for his poster entry,
- “Acceptability of Cassava (Mahinot esculenta) Siopao,” at the Annual Scientific Conference and 14th General Membership Assembly of the National Research Cluster of the Philippines (NRCP) Visayas Regional Cluster.
- 2nd Best Paper During the DOST-CVAARRDEC held at BISU Tagbilaran City on Nov.29,2018.
- Dr. Adrian P. Ybanez won 3rd Place (Professional Podium Category) in the 3rd Annual DOST Central Visayas Health Research and Innovation Conference with the theme Research and Innovation: Linking Theory and Practice on May 6 – 09, 2018 held at CNU, Cebu City
- Dr. Lanndon A. Ocampo was awarded as one of The Outstanding Cebuano Award in the field of Science and Technology. He was also recognized as one of the 100 top Asian Scientists for 2018. In 2017, he was one of the Outstanding Young Scientists recognized by the National Academy of Science and Technology.
- Engr. Jun-jun Obiso won the Best in PPT and Best Presenter during the 3rd International Multidisciplinary Research Conference, DeLuxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City last April 25–27, 2018
- Engr. Gilbert Silagpo won the Best Paper Abstract during the 3rd International Multidisciplinary Research Conference, DeLuxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City last April 25–27, 2018
- Engr. Maria Gemel Palconit won the Best Paper (Engineering Category) during the 2nd International STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agri-Fisheries and Mathematics) Research Congress, Summit, Hotel, Tacloban City last August 28–30, 2018
- Engr. Maria Gemel Palconit advised the students (Sheene Shane Mascardo , Terence Yap, and Christian Mahinay ) who won Grand Champion during the 5th Lear Innovation Olympics at Lear PETC, MEPZ 2, Lapu-Lapu City last November 16, 2018.
- CTU Main Electronics Engineering (EcE) Team, together with their faculty adviser Prof. Maria Gemel Palconit, bagged another championship at LEAR Innovation Olympics 2018 on November 16, 2018 with their winning entry, “Intelligent Transport System Based on Real-Time Paratransit Information using LoraWAN, Smartphone Application, and Internet of Things(IoT).”
