The University of Wah (UOW) was established in 2005. In July 2009, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab passed the University of Wah Act, 2009.[1] The university offers 4-years Bachelor and 2-years Master programs in basic sciences, social sciences, management sciences and engineering sciences. The university also offers PhD programs in various disciplines.

The university has two constituent colleges, Mashal Degree College for Women and Wah Engineering College. Wah Engineering College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering and mechatronics engineering.

The Quaid Campus is located in the beautiful and pollution free environment of the Wah Cantonment. Wah Cantt. is situated in the North-West of Islamabad "The Capital of Pakistan". Taxila city is adjacent to Wah which is rich in ancient, mainly Buddhist archaeological sites and Sikh sacred places. Wah has around 98% literacy rate and is known as "Model City" for education.
