The Pakistan Engineering Council (Urdu: پاكستان انجینئری انجمن; acronym PEC) is a professional body and statutory federal institution for accreditation of engineering education and regulation of engineering profession in Pakistan.[2] Established in 1976 by the PEC 1976 Act of the Constitution of Pakistan, it represents the engineering community in the country and assists the Government of Pakistan at the federal and provincial levels.[3]

PEC grants license and issues registration of engineers, consulting engineers and constructors/operators. It is also discharged with the accreditation and regulation of engineering education throughout the country. PEC also acts as a think tank to the government and undertakes efforts to establish scientific standards for engineering innovations and services.[4] Its headquarters is located in Islamabad and regional/branch/liaison offices are located in main cities of Pakistan.[5] PEC became a provisional member of Washington Accord in 2010 and became full member in 2017.[6] In 2018, PEC became full member of International Professional Engineer (IntPE) Agreement (IPEA).[7]
