The 1956 United States presidential election in Maryland took place on November 6, 1956, as part of the 1956 United States presidential election. Maryland voters chose nine[4] representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.

Maryland was won by incumbent President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R–Pennsylvania), running with Vice President Richard Nixon, with 60.04 percent of the popular vote, against Adlai Stevenson (D–Illinois), running with Senator Estes Kefauver, with 39.96 percent of the popular vote.[5][6]

By winning all 24 county-equivalents, Eisenhower became and remains the solitary presidential candidate to sweep all Maryland’s counties and Baltimore City.[7] As of the 2016 presidential election, this is the last election in which the City of Baltimore voted for the Republican candidate.[8]
