Rowdy Ramudu Konte Krishnudu is a 1980 Telugu action film produced by N. T. Rama Rao on his Ramakrishna Cine Studios banner and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. Starring N. T. Rama Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sridevi, Ralyalakshmi in the lead roles and music composed by Chakravarthy.[2]

Plot

Baji Rao (Rao Gopal Rao) is an international smuggler in the garb of a respectable citizen. His assistant Giri (Nutan Prasad) looks after his entire dealings. Giri is also a crook, who double-crosses Baji Rao and always tries to eliminate him by moving pawns against his activities. Both of them have two assistants, Satyam & Narayana (Satyanarayana) twin brothers who will be passing information among one another. Rowdy Ramudu (N. T. Rama Rao) a goon, but stands for humanity who is ready to do any type of difficult work for sake of money. Once he gets acquaintance with a petty thief Mutyam (Sridevi) who is harassed by her maternal uncle. Ramu solves her problem and after few funny incidents, they fall in love. Balakrishna (Nandamuri Balakrishna) a skiing champion works in a bank as a clerk and lives with his mother (Pushpalata). Krishna falls in love with Lakshmi (Rajyalakshmi) niece of Baji Rao. Baji Rao wants to marry her to his son Madhav (Prasad Babu) to grab her property. Ramu & Krishna meet twice in some crazy situations and they get closer.

Meanwhile, Baji Rao gets an information regarding a hidden precious treasure of very old antique jewelry & ornaments in the valley of Himalayas. The entire information of the treasure is gathered by archeologist Haragopal (Chalapathi Rao) who prepares a route map. This information goes to Giri also through Narayana, both of them try for it in their ways. Before they reach him Haragopal safeguards the route map in a Bank locker where Krishna is working. Unfortunately, Haragopal dies in their hands before giving the information but they get a hint that map is kept in a bank locker. Both Baji Rao & Giri not able to get done this task. At that time Baji Rao comes to know about the love affair of Lakshmi with Krishna. So, he wants to use Krishna for this work. He asks him to get the cover from the locker when Krishna refuses Baji Rao threatens Krishna showing life threat to his mother hence Krishna agrees. Krishna manages to take the cover from the locker. Giri also comes to know regarding this and both gangs try to attack him. Krishna somehow escapes and hands over the cover to his friend Ranga (Lakshmikanth) asking him to hide it. Satyam & Madhav observe it and they kill Ranga but could not get the map. The murder case falls on Krishna and he is sentenced.

Now Baji Rao wants to get back Krishna from jail for which he uses Ramu by giving bad propaganda about Krishna. But Ramu does not believe it, he succeeds in bringing out Krishna with the help of Mutyam but does not hand over to them. He keeps Krishna in a safe place, and Ramu goes to bring his mother. At that time, Giri's henchmen are harassing her, Ramu protects and recognizes her as his own mother. They are separated in his childhood due to a mishap. Rama & Krishna feel very happy knowing that they are brothers. After that, they succeed in getting the map from Ranga’s house. Knowing this Baji Rao threaten to kill Lakshmi and gets back the map which already read by Ramu. Giri blackmails Baji Rao that he will reveal all his secrets. So, compulsorily Baji Rao has to allow to accompany him. Now surprisingly Satyam & Narayana comes out as a single person who acts as two for his benefits. They all reach the Himalayas, Ramu & Krishna follow them in disguise and trap Baji Rao and his gang as guides. Everyone after making an adventurous journey reaches to the treasure. After acquiring the treasure Ramu & Krishna see the end of baddies and hands over the treasure to the government. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriages of Ramu & Mutyam and Krishna & Lakshmi.
