The film marked the debut of famous comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam in the film industry. The film was recorded as a Super Hit at the box office.[6]

Plot

Rambabu (Rajendra Prasad) and Suribabu (Sumalatha) are close friends and roommates, they live as tenants in the house of Gopalam (Brahmanandam), a person who harasses people by playing various musical instruments and his Kantham (Srilakshmi) hugs each and everyone who remembers their expired son Chitti. Rambabu and Suribabu's profession is to perform love marriages. Once Rambabu gets the acquaintance of a beautiful girl, Shanti (Sumalatha) and falls for her. Simultaneously, Suribabu loves a girl called Seeta (Avanthi), who has many family problems such as a mother with an illness, unmarried sisters, an unemployed brother etc. Suribabu goes on resolving their problems, which is a never-ending process. Meanwhile, holidays were declared for Shanti's college and she leaves for her village. Rambabu and Suribabu search a lot with no use, they too go back to their respected hometowns. Suribabu's father Patil (Kota Srinivasa Rao) is a movie lover whose life ambition is to make a movie and he tortures public by telling film stories. Meanwhile, Rambabu's father Ranganatham (Dharmavarapu Subramanyam) seeks an alliance for Rambabu, the bride is his close friend Jaganatham's (Suthi Velu) daughter, who is none other than Shanti. Since Rambabu does not know the reality, he refuses the match. Surprisingly, Suribabu finds Shanti as his neighbor and informs Rambabu. Rambabu argues with his father, so, they set a condition that within 3 months Rambabu should succeed in his love affair, otherwise he must marry the girl seen by his father.

Rambabu reaches Suribabu's village, proposes his love for Shanti, but she refuses because her belief is that love is an abomination and she will marry the person seen by her parents. So, Rambabu decides to impress her parents and enquires regarding them. He comes to know that Shanti's father Jaganatham is an erratic person who is atheist whereas, his wife Subbalakshmi (Radha Kumari) is a strong believer in God, Rambabu impresses them in both ways. Here, Rambabu also comes to know that Jaganatham set a condition that he must like the boy's parents rather than the boy to whom he is going to give his daughter. At the same time, Gopalam and Kantham reach the village, Rambabu introduces them as his parents and enters Jaganatham's house. Eventually, he makes a bet with Shanti that only with the permission of her parents, will he marry her, then Shanti says that she will bring out his real face and throw him out. They also set a condition that no one reveal this secret. After a few comic incidents, disputes arise between Jaganatham and Ranganatham and they cancel the match. Now Jaganatham decides to make Shanti's marriage with Rambabu, for which he makes some tests for Rambabu, with the help of a guy, Chakrapani (Ashok Kumar), when Shanti understands the virtue of Rambabu and starts loving him. In the final test, he tells Rambabu that he is going to make Shanti's marriage with Chakrapani and Rambabu happily agrees to it. Chakrapani's father Narayana (Satyanarayana), who is a fraud and cheater, misuses the situation and prints the wedding cards in the name of Chakrapani and Shanti. To get rid of this trouble, Jaganatham takes help of Rambabu. In that process, Jaganatham comes to know that Rambabu is none other than Ranganatham's son and they all unite. At last, with the help of everyone, Rambabu teaches a lesson to Narayana. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Rambabu and Shanti.
