The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (Urdu: دوا سازی انجمن پاکستان; acronym PCP) is a statutory federal institution and professional body for accreditation and regulation of pharmacists and promotion of pharmacy education in the country.[2] It was established under Pharmacy Act, 1967[3].

Objectives

The objectives of the PCP are to regulate the pharmacy education in the country and registers the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The pharmacy education objectives regarding the curriculum of Doctor of Pharmacy and diploma in pharmacy technician courses are to prepare a health caring and community oriented pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are competent to deal with the common health and pharmaceutical problems of the people in a scientifically sound and cost-effective manner using appropriate technology and holistic approach. PCP, in its meeting held on 1.10.2010, has approved the prefix Doctor for the Pharmacists holding Pharm.D degree.
