Academic grading in Pakistan is based on a percentage system.
Lower secondary education
Lower Secondary education includes the from Grade 6 to Grade 10 classes.[1]
Grading Formula
Grade | Remarks | |
---|---|---|
80 % and above | A+ | Exceptional |
70% and above but below 80% | A | Excellent |
60% and above but below 70% | B | Very Good |
50% and above but below 60% | C | Good |
40% and above but below 50% | D | Fair |
Below 40% to 33% (minimum pass marks) | E | Satisfactory |
Below 33% | F | Fail |

Upper secondary education
Upper secondary education includes the grades 11 and 12th classes. The exam are held by Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education[2] (BISE).[3]
