M. Rajaram was an officer of the Indian Administrative Service and the former collector of Chennai. He is known for translating the Tirukkural into English.

Biography

Rajaram has a postgraduate degree in English literature, an MEd degree in education, and a bachelor's degree in law. He also obtained his doctorate in human resource development and served the Government of Tamil Nadu for more than 30 years in various responsibilities, including Collector of Chennai in 2004.[1] He has been awarded various times including the Malcolm Adiseshhiah Award, Best Collector Award, and Vasista Vidya Shiksak National Award for Gandhian activities.
