Diplotaxis hirta is a species of wall rockets that belong to the Brassicaceae family. The species are endemic in Cape Verde and is listed as endangered by the IUCN/[1]
Its local name of the species may be called mostarda-brabo (wild mustard). Another related plant on the island is Diplotaxis antoniensis. Also of the species in the island there are Diplotaxis antoniensis and gorgadensis of the island of Santo Antão, Diplotaxis gracilis and sundingii, found on the island of São Nicolau as well as Diplotaxis glauca of Sal, and Diplotaxis hirta of Fogo.
Distribution and ecology
Diplotaxis hirta are founded only in mountainous portions of the Island of Fogo, mostly present between 800 and 2,000 meters in elevation.[1]
