Diplotaxis gracilis is a species of wall rockets that belong to the Brassicaceae family. The species are endemic in Cape Verde[2] and is listed as endangered by the IUCN/[1] The plant was named by Otto Eugen Schulz in 1916.

Its local name of the species is called mostarda-brabo (wild mustard).[2] Another related plant is Diplotaxis glauca; found on the island of Sal as well as Diplotaxis antoniensis, Diplotaxis gorgadensis founded on the island of Santo Antão, Diplotaxis hirta and Diplotaxis sundingii.

Distribution and ecology

Diplotaxis gracilis are founded only in the island of São Nicolau in the elevation between 600 and 1,200 meters.[2][3]
