Diamond Harbour railway station is a Kolkata Suburban Railway Station on the Sealdah–Diamond Harbour line with an approximate 60 kilometres (37 mi) distance from Sealdah railway station. It is under the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway zone. Diamond Harbour railway station is one of the busiest railway stations of Sealdah railway division. More than 30 pairs of E.M.U. Local Trains ply through the railway station on a daily basis. It is situated in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian State of West Bengal. Diamond Harbour railway station serves Diamond Harbour city and the surrounding areas.[1][2]

History
In 1883 , the Eastern Bengal Railway constructed a 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) wide Broad Gauge Railway from Sealdah to Diamond Harbour.
Electrification
Electrification of the Sealdah–Diamond Harbour line was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.
