Cwmerfyn (historically Cwm-erfin or Cwmerfin) is a hamlet in the community of Trefeurig, Ceredigion, Wales, 8 miles (13 km) east of Aberystwyth. Cwmerfyn is represented in the National Assembly for Wales by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and the Member of Parliament is Mark Williams (Liberal Democrats).[1][2]
Cwmerfin lead mine is of prehistoric origin and was owned in the first half of the seventeenth century by Sir Hugh Myddelton (1560–1631) and Thomas Bushell (c.1593–1674). As well as lead ore the mine produced zinc, copper and silver ore. The mine closed in 1889.[3][4]
