Llanwenog is a community in the county of Ceredigion, Wales. It is 60.5 miles (97.4 km) from Cardiff and 178.5 miles (287.3 km) from London.[1][2] In 2011 the population of Llanwenog was 1,364, with 57.0% of them able to speak Welsh.[3]

The district's name honors Saint Gwenog, a holy virgin.

The community includes the villages of Alltyblacca, Gorsgoch, Cwmsychbant, Cwrtnewydd Highmead, Aber, Drefach and Rhuddlan.

The Llanwenog sheep is a breed of domestic sheep originating in Wales, which was developed in the 19th century.

Governance

An electoral ward with the same name exists. This Ward stretches beyond the confines of Llanwenog Community and had a total population at the 2011 census of 1,854.[4]
