William Weber (born April 3, 1956) is an American politician and Republican member of the Minnesota Senate. He represents District 22, which includes all or portions of Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood and Rock counties in the southwestern part of the state.

Early life and education

Weber was raised in Rock County, Minnesota. He graduated from Luverne High School and attended Nettleton Business College, where he graduated with a degree in professional accounting.[1] Weber served on the Luverne City Council from 1984 to 1992 and as Luverne's mayor from 1992 to 2001. He is a licensed real estate broker.[2]

Minnesota Senate

Weber unsuccessfully ran for the Minnesota Senate in 2006, losing to longtime Democratic incumbent Jim Vickerman. In 2012, after Republican incumbent Doug Magnus announced he would not seek re-election, Weber was elected to the Senate. He was re-elected in 2016.[3]

Personal life

Weber and his wife, Barb, live in Luverne and have two grown children.
