SIMBADdata

53 Persei (53 Per) is a class B4IV[3] (blue subgiant) star in the constellation Perseus. Its apparent magnitude is 4.80[2] and it is approximately 510 light years away based on parallax.[1] It was the prototype of a class of variable stars known as slowly pulsating B stars, but it is now not agreed whether it is one or not.
