บาดาล

Borrowed from Pali pātāla (“hell; underworld”) or Sanskrit पाताल (pātāla, “hell; underworld”). Cognate with Modern Khmer បាតាល (baataal).

บาดาล • (baa-daan)

1. (Buddhist cosmology, Hindu cosmology) Pātāla: a subterranean realm of the universe, chiefly inhabited by serpentine creatures nāga.
2. (mythology) merworld; undersea world.
3. (Western mythology, biblical) hades; hell; lower world; netherworld; pit; underworld.
   • Job 40:13, KJV:

     ซ่อนเขาไว้ในผงคลีด้วยกัน มัดหน้าของเขาไว้ด้วยกันในโลกบาดาล

     sɔ̂ɔn kǎo wái nai pǒng klii dûai gan · mát nâa kɔ̌ɔng kǎo wái dûai gan nai lôok baa-daan

     Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

   • Ezekiel 32:24, KJV:

     ผู้ลงไปสู่โลกบาดาลโดยไม่เข้าสุหนัต

     pûu long bpai sùu lôok baa-daan dooi mâi kâo sù-nàt

     which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth,

   • Ezekiel 26:20, KJV:

     และจะปล่อยให้เจ้าอยู่ที่โลกบาดาล

     lɛ́ jà bplɔ̀i hâi jâao yùu tîi lôok baa-daan

     and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth,

     The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped

   • Job 28:14, KJV:

     บาดาลพูดว่า ที่ข้าไม่มี และทะเลกล่าวว่า ไม่อยู่กับข้า

     baa-daan pûut wâa · tîi kâa mâi mii · lɛ́ tá-lee glàao wâa · mâi yùu gàp kâa

     The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

   • Proverbs 3:20, KJV:

     โดยความรู้ของพระองค์น้ำบาดาลก็ปะทุออกมาและเมฆก็หยาดน้ำค้างลงมา

     dooi kwaam-rúu kɔ̌ɔng prá-ong náam baa-daan gɔ̂ bpà-tú ɔ̀ɔk maa lɛ́ mêek gɔ̂ yàat náam-káang long maa

     By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

     ในวันที่มันลงไปยังแดนคนตาย เรากระทำให้บาดาลคลุมตัวไว้ทุกข์ให้มัน

     nai wan tîi man long bpai yang dɛɛn kon dtaai · rao grà-tam hâi baa-daan klum dtuua wái-túk hâi man

     In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him,

   • Deuteronomy 33:13, KJV:

     ของประเสริฐที่สุดจากฟ้าสวรรค์ ทั้งน้ำค้าง และจากบาดาลซึ่งหมอบอยู่ข้างล่าง
