De Football League Cup 1998/99, om sponsorredenen ook bekend als de Worthington Cup, was de 39ste editie van de strijd om deze Engelse voetbalbeker. Het toernooi begon op 11 augustus 1998 en eindigde op zondag 21 maart 1999 met de finale in het oude Wembley Stadium in Londen. In totaal deden 92 clubteams mee aan het toernooi.
