Football League Cup 1978/79
De Football League Cup 1978/79 was de 19de editie van de strijd om deze Engelse voetbalbeker. Het toernooi begon op 12 augustus 1978 en eindigde op 17 maart 1979 met de finale in het oude Wembley Stadium in Londen. In totaal deden 92 clubteams mee aan het toernooi. Titelverdediger was Nottingham Forest, dat de beker ditmaal opnieuw won onder leiding van trainer-coach Brian Clough.
