History

Mall construction began in 1994, and West Valley Mall opened its doors in 1995 with Gottschalks and Target. Cinemark Movies 14 was added in 1996. JCPenney, Sears and Ross Dress for Less were added in 1998. Barnes & Noble and Old Navy were added in 2002. Old Navy closed in 2007, as well as Gottschalks in 2009. Macy's replaced Gottschalks in 2010. Ross Stores announced that they would move from West Valley Mall to the former Linens 'n Things building in 2012, and Barnes & Noble announced it would close its store in late 2013. Homelife Furniture opened its doors in the space formerly occupied by Ross Dress for Less in the same year.

A Sports Authority store replaced Barnes & Noble in 2014, then closed due to the chain's Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2016. This store has since been replaced by a budget gymnasium, that seems to be performing satisfactory.

On November 7, 2019, it was announced that Sears would be closing this location a part of a plan to close 96 stores nationwide. The store closed in February 2020.[9]

On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing this location as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide.[10]
