According to the 2010 census, Sidney has a total area of 0.625 square miles (1.62 km2), of which 0.62 square miles (1.61 km2) (or 99.2%) is land and 0.005 square miles (0.01 km2) (or 0.8%) is water.[4]

At the 2000 census there were 1,062 people in 422 households, including 297 families, in the village. The population density was 1,995.7 people per square mile (773.7/km²). There were 438 housing units at an average density of 823.1 per square mile (319.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.65% White, 0.38% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.47% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38%.[7]

Of the 422 households 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% were non-families. 23.0% of households were one person and 13.0% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.99.

The age distribution was 26.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% 65 or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.4 males.

The median household income was $51,563 and the median family income was $55,987. Males had a median income of $37,188 versus $27,717 for females. The per capita income for the village was $21,425. None of the families and 0.9% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 5.1% of those over 64.
